Stuffed Peppers à la Française

1 package of Tour Eiffel Chopped Cooked Ham (400 g)
30 ml olive oil (2 tbsp)
227 g lean ground beef (½ lb)
15 g chilli powder (1 tbsp)
250 g pre-cooked rice (1 cup)
500 ml basil tomato sauce (2 cups)
6 seeded red peppers
250 ml grated Monterey Jack cheese (1 cup)


  1. Preheat oven to 190 °C (375 °F).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and sauté for 2 minutes or until browned. Add the chopped ham and chilli powder. After 2 minutes, add the pre-cooked rice and 250 ml (1 cup) tomato sauce. Stir well to combine.
  3. Cover the bottom of a pyrex-type baking dish with tomato sauce. Stand the peppers in the dish and stuff them with the mixture. Cover each pepper with the remaining sauce and cheese. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove aluminum foil and bake for another 10 minutes.
  4. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
